The Blake Foundation
Young, spirited, and full of natural talent - Blake Burrows spent his childhood patrolling the youth baseball fields in Coventry, CT.
Blake, known as “that first baseman with a sweet left-handed swing”, enjoyed the best years of his young life on the baseball diamond. Through countless practices, seasons, and playoffs Blake was able to meet lifelong friends and learn from a talented team of coaches. The time he spent on the field made such an impact on Blake that in his adult years he would spend hours recreating plays from the past, reliving the early days, grateful for those happy and carefree times.
On November 3, 2021, Blake tragically passed away in a car accident at the young age of 27. As senseless and tragic as the accident was, Blake’s family refused to let his passing be just that, they believed that something positive and beautiful needed to come from it - that’s how The Blake Foundation came to be.
To honor his love for the game and his infectious kindness, The Blake Foundation will award yearly scholarships to deserving Coventry baseball players and provide general assistance to the league and its’ fields to ensure that every child has the chance to play baseball and create some lifelong memories along the way, like Blake was able to do. We hope that this is just the start and that one day The Blake Foundation will be able to help youth sports across the State!
